A Thought for Food 2008
Thank you to all the thousands of people that turned up to enjoy the very first A Thought for Food event, despite the appalling weather.
The producers and exhibitors were tremendous, and visitors were able to enjoy the very best of local and regional produce as well as some great tastings and demonstrations.
On Sunday, Linda Gale was crowned You CAN cooK champion, following some strong competition from four other finalists over the day. Fat Olives' Lawrence Murphy provided the expert guidance for the finalists as they cooked in front of packed audiences.
Queen of Soul Food,Momma Cherri was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the event, entertaining visitors with cookery demonstrations that literally packed the Village Cookery theatre to the rafters. Such was the success, that she sold through her stock of books twice! Her recipes will be available shortly on the website.
Children thoroughly enjoyed the Village Cookery School, where they learnt to cook a range of dishes with the help of the award winning Kitchen Academy.
We would like to thank all the producers, demonstrators and exhibitors, our sponsors and supporters, and the Stansted Park team for helping us make A Thought for Food a great event'
